When I watch a nurse struggle with technology because she can’t enter in vital signs fast enough for the patient with a major seizure I think of the tiny amount of brainpower it would take to make that a seamless experience.
When I read about first responders not getting to an emergency in time because their new tech systems were not tested with one tenth of the rigor of Candy Crush or finance software it makes me cringe inside to know that bad software has literally killed people.
When I hear tales of medical IT losing good doctors and nurses because the technology is convoluted, frustrating, and proprietary, I get angry.
We have the methodology to build a better society, but the money and desire isn’t there.
The nurse and Candy Crush analogy makes sense to me, at least.
