NDA Syllabus 2018 — Complete Subject Wise Syllabus for NDA Exam

NDA Syllabus 2018 is comprised of Mathematics and General Ability sections. NDA Syllabus 2018 for students who are seeking admission to Army, Navy and Air Force of the National Defense Academy course and Indian Naval Academy Course can be checked from this article. NDA exam is conducted twice a year for admission in various branches of Army, Navy and Air Force. NDA exam will provide admission to the eligible candidates who have passed their Class 12 exam or studying in Class 12. The NDA exam will be conducted in Pen and Paper Based mode on 9 September 2018. NDA Syllabus 2018 has been prescribed by the UPSE (Union Public Service Commission). NDA syllabus 2018 is divided into two sections i.e. Mathematics and General Ability Test. The NDA Syllabus 2018 is to judge the candidates on the basis of their logical ability and general awareness. In the NDA syllabus, the Mathematics section will be of total 200 marks and General Ability Test will be of 600 marks. The General Ability Test of the NDA syllabus 2018 is divided into two parts i.e. English and General Knowledge.

NDA Syllabus 2018 — Subject wise
In the Mathematics section of the NDA Syllabus, there will be topics like:
· Algebra — Complex numbers, modulus, Geometric and Harmonic progressions, Conversion of a number in decimal system to binary system, Arithmetic, cube roots of unity, Binary system of numbers, Binomial theorem, Quadratic equations, Permutation and Combination, Logarithms etc.
· Trigonometry — Ratios, properties of triangles, Angles & their measures in degrees and in radians, Inverse trigonometric functions, Trigonometric identities Sum and difference formulae, Application etc.
· Matrices & determinants — Types of Matrices, adjoin & inverse of the square matrix, Determinant of the matrix, operations on matrices, etc.
· Analytical geometry of two & three dimensions — Equation of a circle in standard/ in general form, Ellipse and hyperbola, Distance formula, Angle between two lines, Equation of a line in various forms, Standard forms of the parabola, Distance of a point from a line etc.
· Differential calculus — Composite functions, geometrical and physical interpretation of a derivative, Continuity of functions, Application of derivatives in problems of maxima and minima, Concept of a real-valued function, Standard limits, Derivatives of the sum, product and quotient of functions etc.
· Integral calculus & differential equations -
· Vector algebra — Vectors in two and three dimensions, scalar product or dot product of two-vectors, scalar multiplication of vector, Vector product & cross product of two vectors, Applications — work done by a force and moment of a force, and in geometrical problems, Unit and null vectors, addition of vectors, magnitude and direction of a vector etc.
· Statistics and probability — Classification of data, outcomes and associated sample space, Binomial distribution, frequency distribution, cumulative frequency distribution, examples of random experiments giving rise to Binominal distribution, Random experiment, events, mutually exclusive and exhaustive events etc.
In the General Ability Test of the NDA Syllabus, there will be two sub sections i.e. English and General Knowledge. English will be of 400 marks and General Knowledge will be of 200 marks. The English part will include topics such as Grammar & usage, vocabulary, and comprehension and cohesion. The General Knowledge part in NDA Syllabus will be comprised of several sections including — Section 1 — Physics, Section 2 — Chemistry, Section 3 — General Science, Section 4 — History, Freedom movement etc., Section 5 — Geography and Section 6 — Current Events.
