Interesting metrics, however, I’d like to clarify one point regarding the use of press releases for online promotion. Recent changes to Google’s algorithm have made press releases ineffective as they are now omitted from organic search results. Most PR websites have been blocked by Google at this point. So the fact that you did not get a good response from your PR is not surprising to me at all. Press releases have value, but only if they are seen and published by the right people. Most news outlets are inundated with PR on a daily basis, so breaking through is not easy. Developers need to generate PR kits to promote their products, but in my opinion they should lower their expectations regarding effectiveness.
