Land of Colours — Rajasthan

It’s strange, but true: the seemingly barren land of ‘Rajasthan’ is more than Colors of Rajasthan Tour ful. For those who haven’t travelled, the combination of colours and sand may seem like a distant dream — but it’s true! It’s even more amazing than you could have imagined!

Tall historical buildings stand in the midst of the mirage that surrounds this land’s deserts, telling the saga of bygone years. There is much to think about, from palaces to kingdoms, forts to havelis. It’s unmistakable how much has been crafted out, and how meticulously! All of this is only possible because of the brave-hearts born on this land!

Look at the Rajasthan Forts — the Mehrangarh Fort (India’s longest fort, Jodhpur), Amber Fort (the most colourful, Jaipur), Kumbhalgarh Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site, near Udaipur), City Palace of Pink City (loaded with miniature paintings and silver), or the Hawa Mahal (intricate Rajasthani architecture) — they are simply incomparable! The paintings, murals, and red stone work — all of which have been restored — withstood the passing time, tell the tale.

RAJASTHAN IS IDEAL FOR FIRST-TIME INDIA VISITORS.

I don’t know about you, but I put off visiting India for years for one simple reason: I was afraid.

I’d read dozens of horror stories from women who’d had nothing but bad luck. And, as much as I wanted to visit India, I was afraid it would be a disaster. I expected to be groped, hassled, and scammed, and to lose my mind as a result of the noise, pollution, and chaos. Everyone seems to have a love-hate relationship with India, and I was a little worried about what the hate parts of my trip would be.

I have nothing but affection for Rajasthan.

THERE ARE A LOT OF COLORFUL CITIES.

When I think of Rajasthan, I remember the vibrant cities. All of the major cities in the state are painted in different Colors of Rajasthan Tour, which makes for great photo opportunities.

The Pink City is Jaipur, the Blue City is Jodhpur, the White Cities are Udaipur and Pushkar, the Golden City is Jaisalmer, and the Red City is Bikaner. Jodhpur, I believe, was the most photogenic city for me, with Jaisalmer a close second.

Rajasthan is the place to visit if you enjoy colour and vibrancy in your travels.

YOU COULD STAY FOR A MONTH AND NOT BE BORED.

If Rajasthan were a country, you’d be told it takes at least a month to see everything. That really impressed me — how many countries allow you to spend a month travelling around one region and feel as if everything you see is one of the most incredible sights you’ve ever seen? However, this is Rajasthan.

I spent three weeks in India’s desert state and still had a long list of places I’d missed. And I saw a lot, my friends. Jaipur, Abhaneri, Bundi, Kota, Pushkar, Chittorgarh, Kumbhalgarh, Ranakpur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer were among the places I visited. I saw a large portion of the state.

I did not go on a safari in Rathanmbore National Park to see wild Bengal tigers. I didn’t have time to hike around Mount Abu, Rajasthan’s only hill station. In Bikaner, I did not visit the infamous rat temple. I did not spend any time watching birds at Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. I didn’t have time to visit the famous Shekhawati paintings. I was only in Ajmer for about 30 minutes. The list goes on and on.

You could spend an entire month in Rajasthan seeing nothing but incredible attractions and monuments and still feel as if you haven’t seen everything. I know that even after three weeks in the state, I’m eager to return.
