Using Medium as Something More Than Another Blogging Platform

When I first came across Medium, I was looking for another blogging platform I could start another blog at. Currently, I use Wordpress and Ghost, both of which I’m completely happy with, but are just missing something.

The problem with Wordpress is that they’ve taken out part of what made them great — their plugins. Now that this is a ‘Premium’ feature, Wordpress is now essentially Medium (no offence, Medium).

Ghost, on the other hand, is a stripped down version of everything but allows you to build on this. This platform is more for experienced users and developers.

Medium

Anyway, Medium is the perfect tool for those who want to get a story across without anything fancy. Plain, simple writing with less distraction.

That’s why I like this. It allows me to write without worrying about any extra formatting, coding or anything else.

I’ll be using this as a platform to air my thoughts about writing and ‘making it’, I suppose. The term itself is quite broad and it means different things to different people. To me, it means achieving something I’ve been dreaming of for some time. I’ll elaborate on this as I write more, but until then, I’ll be reading other posts on Medium to help develop my brain and such.

Thanks for reading,

Karan.
