America with Portuguese groceries must have been an amazing thing. Just spent a summer in Portugal living out of our camper van. Highlights were the rugged coast, wonderful people, and Carlos Alves in Baril. Where else could you buy fresh kale, sweet potatoes, apples, salads, the best olives on the planet little green ones marinated in garlic & herbs, fresh bread, and of course snails by the kilo.
And how did Pao com Chorizo not become a US sensation?
