I agree, and I guess this is my point — software design is drastically different from other design disciplines, especially to the extent that designers need to manipulate the materials their designs are made of. When it comes to near facsimilie, I think most software designers already engage with one when they use prototyping tools, which I think are far more efficient and effective at communicating a design than actually coding, with much less time cost and while retaining ability to focus on core concepts of design (psychology, behavioural science, etc.) instead of core concepts of programming.

Both disciplines hold extraordinary value which is unfortunately diminished when someone who hasn’t yet mastered one discipline needlessly engages in the other.
