What I learned not drinking for two years

Happy New Year Andy Boyle and congratulations on everything. My hope is that you’ve or will inspire anyone reading this to get real with themselves. In June I’ll be 70. Some comment that I look 45, and IF so (NOT!) not drinking much of alcohol may have helped. I do truly admire a finely brewed dark ale, albeit my home-brewed Kombucha would be the usual imbibe and yes it contains probably 2% alcohol (guessing here) but it’s the fermentative aspect and the ph correction that make it important; not the buzz from alcohol. The other factor you mention; being creative, thinking and writing is my other and often sole impetus for survival; to leave something of merit is a notable concept and I applaud you. I’m engaged in two other things as well that alcohol consumption would definitively curtail; graduating with a communications B.A. from SNHU soon, and working with my attorneys on and in The U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and which claim/case is in the final stretch having recently won a Remand after ten years of battle; and one year in the Court. My own claim goes back to 1970 before you were born and the USA was as divided as ever in history against a divisive foreign policy and unnecessary and tragic waste of precious resources in war.
