Shaming users is a horrible idea!
Rizwan Javaid

I think shaming is just a step across from ‘hassle-the-user’ type capture methods. For example, I personally hate those sites that detect when you scroll further or faster than usual, and immediately pop up a “wait, don’t leave” message because they think you are heading out. Actually, some of us just scroll fast sometimes, and now I can’t read your post because you covered it with that big message. Or the ones that try to annoy you into clicking an opt-in CTA by shoving it in your face. It’s all about manipulating you to do something at the cost of positive UX. “OK, I clicked it. And now I hate you.”

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
