Day One: Lets give it a go.

Today is my 32nd birthday.

Thanks.

Today I’ve taken the world in for 32 years.

It’s mostly a nice place.

Today I’ll attempt to post a ‘story’ each day for 32 days.

Why?

How nosy of you.

I’ve wanted to do something like this for a long time, and like most things (and people?) I’ve come up with various reasons not to do this or not had the time.

It’s time to make time.

If anything, I hope to learn to format these better, but it is almost midnight so I have at least one excuse.

Seriously, why?

I’ve noticed in the last few months, good old New Years resolution time, that my Medium feed has had the odd story or two where people have, for 30 days, blogged about something or created a startup every 30 days.

Why 32?

Because! I don’t know. Maybe it’s breaking from the norm, which I like to do, and it’s still a commitment.

Reading these stories of fellow humans who have done their task for 30 days I get the impression that they’re accomplishment isn’t that they did something for 30 days, but because it became a thing to do for 30 days. No more ‘I don’t have time’, more of ‘I made time work for me, and stuck to it’

This is a step, a small step, but I hope to stick to this story a day. I have some if as of what each story will be … I have enough drafts I started on here that I could fill some days in easily.

Lastly, why here on Medium?

I read various news sites, mostly tech and science related, pretty much every day, and Medium is the last site I visit. Using the ‘save best for last’ method, I can pay more attention to the real stories on Medium. There’s a lot of sites out there with duplicate news items, which I can skim over.

That’s all I really want to say/type. It’s late, I’m sure my bedside light is distracting my wife from sleeping and typing this on a phone isn’t the easiest, especially with Apple’s autocorrect.

Sorry about any spelling and grammar errors.

It’s my first time.

Like what you read? Give J a round of applause.

From a quick cheer to a standing ovation, clap to show how much you enjoyed this story.
