Is the writer actually arthritic to argue that teams set out to achieve goals that aren’t in service of winning the World Series? Even from a purely capitalistic POV, the further a team gets into October, the more TV revenue is available. I fail to see how a perfect game is an achievement upon the franchise can hang its hat.
