Painkillers and Vitamins

This article is my school of thought. If you do not agree, you can leave a comment.
Ideas are everywhere. Yesterday’s ideas have become today’s wonders and tomorrows system. Entrepreneurs are individuals crazy enough to run one with one crazy idea against all odds and make something from nothing. A question to you,
With over 400 million entrepreneurs in the world, what makes you so different? Ponder on that for a while.
I believe entrepreneurs build/develop painkillers. They develop painkillers and put vitamins to increase the demand and supply chain. What are painkillers?
Painkillers are the things that solve an immediate headache for a user. Most times the user isn’t aware of such pain so thinks it’s normal. Users know about the lack but most times it cannot be properly articulated. An entrepreneur articulates the problem; solves it and presents it in a way that’s acceptable to the user. Vitamins like vitamin water are things/products used after the headache has subsided. Whenever you want to build ask yourself these questions.

 1. Is it Big Enough?
An idea is like a child. You feed, nurture, cloth and shelter her because it has become a “being- destined to happen”. So therefore, is the idea(child) worth your time and effort. Is it worth the sleepless nights? The unbearable pain? Think deeply.

 2. Am I willing to put effort?
Sounds strange? If I have the idea then I should put effort but the truth is most people don’t know what it takes to birth an idea. It is one thing to have an idea it is another thing to make it a living entity. Also, because you thought of it means you can do it by yourself (that is why there are partners/co-founders). Passion is not the same as ability and capacity. Know the difference.

 3. Is it a painkiller or a vitamin?
I am not going through that again. You should understand the terms by now.

So many great products are vitamins, but rode on the back of painkillers e.g. Uber would have never come close to existence if Google Maps had not been on the scene. Finally, painkillers can be seen as solutions to human needs such as Leadership. If you notice Leadership problems in an organisation you work for offer Painkillers rather than vitamins. The horse always goes before the cart.

So before you jump out ask yourself these questions
