12 Experiments for 2019

In 2019, I’m going to participate in this awesome idea called 12 Experiments. It sounded like a great opportunity to meet new people and have some extra accountability for things I’d like to accomplish during the upcoming year! Without further ado, here are my 12 Experiments:

January — A month of sobriety: avoid drinking alcohol.

February — A month of no TV: cancel my Netflix subscription and unplug the TV in the living room.

March — A month of education: find an article from a financial independence blog to reach each day of the month. Then reach out to all of those who would be a good fit for a “challenge” cross-post on a side project of mine, http://plansavewin.com.

April — A month of guidance: interview 4 people who are financially independent.

May — A month of focus: write 15 new challenges for http://plansavewin.com.

June — A month of appreciation: reach out to 10 friends who I haven’t talked to in a while.

July — A month of making income online: see how much money I can make from online gigs (eg — Fiverr, TaskRabbit, Uber/Lyft, Craigslist)

August — A month of no spending: only spend money on bare essentials.

September — A month of foresight: explore different avenues for generating passive income.

October — A month of rationing: do not waste any food.

November — A month of purchase hacking: see how much I can learn about and save from deal seeking.

December — A month of charitable giving: do research about different types of charities and volunteer at 2 events.
