Mister Peterson’s Neighborhood: Clear Visions: Family Hurts
Good day people. Hope y’all Labor Day weekend was good to you.
So…’Family Hurts’. Produced by my good brother Tony Factory, formerly known as Sam Peezy. I remember him sending me this beat and it was titled ‘Family Hurts’. I played it and immediately fell into my feelings. I wanted to unload so much, but it was a difficult song to write and record, so what you hear was what y’all got. The first verse touched on the general feelings I have from time to time when it comes to my family. The second verse was more directed at 2 relationships I wish would be better than what they are: my son DeJuan and my uncle Tre (Tru.ski to y’all). The chorus was a shout out to Mom Dukes. She’s told me that so many times…and for some dumb ass reason…I look pass it. She was right.

My definition of a person I consider family: someone who I love and respect, whether it’s blood or not. Someone (or even a group of people) that I would loan money to, and not really bug on getting it back. Something like that.
Its difficult to speak more on this song and my feelings in regards to family because I don’t want to offend anyone (I’ve already offended 2 people this weekend) and I feel strongly on my beliefs and I just don’t feel like explaining deeply on it. I feel I have a heavy complex on people, their motives, how things should be in their eyes, and everything else that comes with it. Like…I walk a different tempo and it leads folks, including my (blood) family, to assume that I’m not being family-like, when I feel like I’m the first in line when it’s a ‘family’ situation occurring. I’m the first to listen, to not judge, to simply be there, but have been labeled as this standoff type of guy. Before, it use to bother the hell out of me, but now…I don’t give a fuck, respectfully.
Hope y’all been enjoying the album and thanks to everyone who supports it. The weekend is over and I’m ready to get back in work mode. Shout out to all of my families. I love y’all.
