On red clay roads where cotton plants once towered,
and delta blues hummed in sync with the southern wind,
There lies a quilt of stories, sewn by the hands of the forgotten,
In the land where magnolias weep and Spanish moss sway with regret.
Lives shaped by the relentless sun and the twist of history,
Hardened hands, tender hearts, souls etched in resilience.
Voices silenced by the chokehold of indifference,
Yet, from their silence, an orchestra of truth arises.
The worn-out shoes on the front porch tell tales,
Of miles walked, of dreams chased, of justice sought.
The whispers of the wind carry cries of anguish,
Yet, echo promises of tomorrow’s dawn.
Young eyes peer out from behind weathered window panes,
Dreams as wide as the Mississippi, hopes as deep.
They seek not pity, nor a hand of charity,
Just the dignity of equality, the grace of opportunity.
Through crumbling shacks and across the fields,
You hear it — a symphony of survival, a melody of resilience.
Oh, it sings, “We’ve been through, seen much,
Yet, like the mighty oak, we stand, we grow.”
In the southern heartland, where battles were fought and won,
In the echoes of freedom songs, in the rhythm of chained feet,
A mosaic of strength, woven from threads of despair and hope,
