🚗💨 Man and woman charged after leading 🚓 on high-speed chase in allegedly stolen car. Pursuit began in supermarket car park 🏪, with police using stop sticks to slow car in Fitzroy, Melbourne 🏙️.
"Go, baby, go!" echoed in a dashcam recording 📹 as police shouted for them to exit the car 🚔. Footage showed car pulling into peak hour traffic ⏰, narrowly missing a tram 🚃 on Smith Street.
"How's that for driving?" man quipped. Car veered onto wrong side of road, pursued by police 🚔. Footage showed car running red light 🚦, narrowly missing a pedestrian 🚶♂️ and colliding with Ford Ranger 🚙 in Parkville.
Couple tried to flee on foot 🏃♂️🏃♀️ but were quickly caught by police 🚨. Liz Dohrman, nearby resident, witnessed final moments: "I ran to the window 🪟 and saw car facing wrong way, smoking after prang 💥."
Car was stolen from St Kilda a day prior. 40-year-old Dandenong man charged with multiple offences, including reckless driving 🚗💨 and theft 🚓. Scheduled to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court in August 🗓️.
28-year-old Dandenong woman also charged with theft 🚨, granted bail, court appearance in September 🗓️.
