"Go, baby, go!" echoed in a dashcam recording πΉ as police shouted for them to exit the car π. Footage showed car pulling into peak hour traffic β°, narrowly missing a tram π on Smith Street.
"How's that for driving?" man quipped. Car veered onto wrong side of road, pursued by police π. Footage showed car running red light π¦, narrowly missing a pedestrian πΆββοΈ and colliding with Ford Ranger π in Parkville.
Couple tried to flee on foot πββοΈπββοΈ but were quickly caught by police π¨. Liz Dohrman, nearby resident, witnessed final moments: "I ran to the window πͺ and saw car facing wrong way, smoking after prang π₯."
Car was stolen from St Kilda a day prior. 40-year-old Dandenong man charged with multiple offences, including reckless driving ππ¨ and theft π. Scheduled to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court in August ποΈ.
28-year-old Dandenong woman also charged with theft π¨, granted bail, court appearance in September ποΈ.
