I think we can all agree that the internet has greatly changed the world, and that it’s growth has been very rapid. The first article is a brilliant read, and really makes you question what aspects of life the internet has in fact changed and influenced, as well as how exponential its growth has been since its invention. I was surprised to see that life in this small and remote town hasn’t really changed. The community seems to be the same as it always was, but with the internet providing greater opportunities for the school, which the writer seems to be envious of. The thing that really interested me was how the youth of this town consumed the internet and apps just as any other kid around the world, where, in a sense, their social lives revolve around social media. This just shows that it doesn’t matter where in the world you are, but if you have access to this technology then you most likely will be a part of a worldwide community of digital consumers, all connected through handheld devices.
