Given that this is now back in the public eye, it’s a good time to point out that Isaac should have remained more polite in dealing with this. I happen to agree that the name npmjs implies, at the very least, an association with npmjs.org but more likely that the package was created by them. However, given that npmjs.org only exists through the generous donation of time by hundreds of thousands of developers, they should be a bit more humble and diplomatic in their dealings with the community. npmjs.org does not own the code published through it, they are just the most popular aggregator of other peoples code. If all the authors using npmjs.org left tomorrow, they would have no business.
