I’ve had a hard time labelling what I do, and above all what I want to do professionally in the future. How the role was framed in your article resonated with that struggle and in a way, helped me.
And in response to some comments.
IMHO a Product Manager has different managerial requirements than a product designer. He doesn’t need to be as proficient in creative conceptualisation, prototyping, hypothesis development and validation.
But greatly nourishes is decisions in part from the product designer’s input. Offering in return requirements and constraints in a healthy feedback loop.
