Use headphones on the bus

No, everyone doesn’t want to listen to your favourite new jam, the latest episode of whatever tv show you're watching, the irregular yet jarring sound of the start of a million video clips as you scroll endlessly through your new feed or your video chat with whatever friend you’re about to meet that goes something like “hey” — ”hey” — ”whatcha doin?” — ”nothin.”

That bus, train, metro, tube, whatever your riding isn’t your living room, it’s a shared public service that — depending on where you live — millions of people are using every day. And your personal smartphone is exactly that — personal.

When you leave your house you sign an unspoken and unwritten contract to engage civilly with the rest of the world. Don’t be a tool

The world isn’t a giant Whatsapp group chat and it’s definitely not Snapchat.

This is I.R.L.

Take a minute, consider everyone around you and be courteous to all the people who are just trying to coexist in this mad world like you are.
