If you use an analytics platform like App Annie you’ll see SummitSync had 904 global installs for the entire year. Using a PPC strategy at .38 per click that would only cost you $343.52… If you doubled down on paid media campaigns using Branch Metrics deep links while A/B testing your efforts you’d be able to move much faster with agility, speed and save a lot of time and money which you could use to acquire more users. Realistically you need to factor in labor costs too when you’re using earned media strategies to really have an apples to apples comparison. I’d conservatively say this strategy took your CPC from $00.38 to over $91.oo CPC (240x increase) when you factor in the average salary for a growth hacker alone which does not include infrastructure/production costs.
