The First Program I Ever Wrote
Debra Lobel

Yup, my first programs were in FORTRAN, too, only we had our own keypunch machine. Our high school computer teacher dropped our programs off at the university computer center and picked the results up the next morning. I certainly know how to debug using pencil and paper. In fact, I would prefer hiring someone who knows how to do this, since it requires thinking through each step rather than watching a debugger do it for them.
