Upfront planning IS the key to success – when I know what my days’ priorities are, I succeed. I drift when there is ambiguity, no pressure of a deadline etc.
As a leader, I am increasingly aware that objections from team members when leading cross fictional and collaborative teams can be offset, if not eliminated, by setting deadlines and forcing folks to get focused on a short list or, ideally, one item.
