Blog #2: Mediator of Culture/The Family-School Connection
Nicole Uribe

I want to start by telling you how much I appreciated the “Lilo and Stitch” quote. Our classrooms will be an extension of our families if we are doing things right, and I think that would be the perfect quote for the classroom door.

I completely agree with you on the minimal homework policy, as well as the reading list. Your teacher is really on to something with people who don’t like to read just not yet having found the right book. It is our responsibility to help our students find that book that will actually make reading enjoyable for them, and I for one look forward to this responsibility.
