Day 39: On Gifts
I spent the last 14 hours writing something or another. I filled out the articles of incorporation, and our nonprofit’s bylaws. I’m looking forward to making this a legal nonprofit.
I kind of feel bad that I’m spending all this time doing this paperwork, and the ladies are in the trenches actually collecting dresses, drawing patterns, making things. Kind of left out.
I have to remind myself that what I’m doing is important too. It’s not glamorous, but it matters. And it’s what I love to do!
We have to define our objectives, our purpose, and our vision. We have to file the proper paperwork, and surround ourselves with proper counsel. We have to define our roles and responsibilities. We have to count the costs and create a budget. We have to cross our T’s and dot our I’s.
It’s necessary.
It brings me so much JOY knowing that we are going to create another avenue for people to serve and use their gifts. Not many churches have a sewing or crocheting or crafting or jewelry making ministries. But these are real God given gifts! Now they can be used for kingdom work.
That is awesome!
There really is a job for everyone. A space for everyone’s gifts in this universe. We just have to connect the gift with the need.
I was talking to the ladies today, and it struck me how awesome this season is. We are planting a seed. We are starting a movement. Every huge nonprofit out there started out this way: with a need, a willing spirit, and a vision.
