EQ is certainly an essential design skill: you have see things from both your client’s point of view, and — in the case of images created for marketing campaigns — that of your client’s potential customers.

“We get promoted because of our IQ and we get fired because of our lack of EQ” made me laugh — but it’s no joke. If you can’t understand and commit to what a client wants and needs to be successful, that client will fire you by not coming back.
