And thank you for your kind response! It’s a tough place to be in, isn’t it, when the desire to be a parent hits but life’s circumstances aren’t conducive to child-rearing? It sounds like you’ve really pondered the decision to adopt a child quite a bit, and parenting is one of those things that when you decide that’s what you want — it crosses the mind quite a bit. I hope things work out for you!

As you mentioned in your original post, I think one of the biggest rewards of raising children is when you’re old and you’ve raised compassionate, empathetic children who become adults with those same qualities. Adults with whom you can share a lifelong bond and friendship.
