I have found chiropractic care quite beneficial for spinal relief. As your story noted, the key is finding a good practioner. My first chiropractor used a more violent technique in which he generally put you in a pretzel shape and pushed down on you to make the spinal adjustments. However, as I got older I became more nervous about the force used to make the adjustments (in addition to his beginning to push other items such as supplements) so I switched to a new chiropractor that uses the “activator technique”. The activator technique is non-forceful and can also be used to easily adjust knees, ankles, shoulders, wrists and neck in addition to your back. It may still be placebo but I definitely and immediately feel the difference when my knees, ankles, shoulders, wrists or neck are adjusted by my new chiropractor.
