European Music Therapy Day

For this second project, I decided to design an app based on music therapy. Considered as an art therapy, the music can be used also to help people, to handle pain after a surgery or help old people to recover their memories.

EMPATIZE.

Once I got my topic, I sent my survey in order to have a large panel and did some interviews. Finally I received more than 100 answers and interviewed some “clients”. I confirmed that Music is a universal language , almost 1 out of 2 French people say they can’t live without music (Sacem Source).

So here some results of my survey and interviews:

About competitors, we can find many meditation apps but not specific ones with music therapy.

Competitors

The main competitor would be Music Care app, developed with therapist and experts, only available for patients. The others like Headspace and Humm Ly present mainly music program without expert view.

DEFINE.

The previous feedbacks and research led me to meet “Baptiste”, my persona for this project.

Persona
User journey - Wellness project
The statement

After defined this persona, I suggested to create theses features to develop the app:

IDEATION.

Features of the app
  • A mobile app connected to a smart watch, to be flexible
  • A smart watch to track the heart beat of the user at each session
  • A gamification program to encourage the user to follow the program every day
  • A chatbot (AI) to give a support to the user during the program

PROTOTYPE.

Here my low fid prototype-main user flow:

TEST.

General feedbacks of this prototype

User testing feedbacks

I learnt a lot with this second UX project managing time with the different steps of the Design Thinking process. Next week, I have to handle the UI part and start from nothing. A big challenge to imagine an app mixing music and therapy program by choosing the right atmosphere. We will see :).
