What do you find on the other side of the door?
Sometimes fear guides us,
Sometimes deceitfully binding us
In a set place or time
Some believe our fear, an innate protector
For self-perseverance
Rooted in wisdom of a different form,
Internal guardian of a unique kind
The same fear that intimidates and hinders
Can be the same fear that sparks one’s interest and intrigue
Fear sometimes causes us to second guess ourselves unnecessarily
And further question and examine everything we believe
Complacency, latency
Negative connotations
But sometimes
I see you in me
Maybe circumstance
But never by happenstance
Far from everything you dreamed of
And aspire to be
So you ask, what’s on the other side of the door?
The answer is YOU
It’s as simple as that
As only you possess the key
Take a long hard look my friend
Self-assess and reflect
As the only one holding YOU back is ME
All that you’ve hoped for;
All that you’ve prayed for;
And all that you ever wanted to be
Starts by taking one hard look inward
And two steps forward
Open the door to your own
Dreams and Destiny
