No one outside of those fantasy areas is getting speeds like that at prices like that. I have two options here- crappy att dsl which caps at around 18 mbps for ~$50 a month (hard to say really what standalone is, everything is a package with directv now) or xfinity 100 mbps for around $80 stand alone. I bundle with tv and total bill after fees for boxes is $135 but that’s a promo rate. Other options are cheap around $20 a month but ridiculously slow like 5 mbps. Basically dsl connections I believe. So no, google only got a few markets to expand.
Government ought to just step in when it’s not profitable for companies, make all the lines public utilities, get your internet from whomever, isps just host the routing servers and stuff, all comcasts line people become utility workers. Won’t happen though, their lobby is too big.
