Clinton’s post super-Tuesday pledged delegate lead is almost 10 times bigger than Obama’s was in 2008

Comparing last night’s Super Tuesday to Super Tuesday 2008, Secretary Hillary Clinton came out with a lead over Senator Bernie Sanders that is almost 10 times bigger than the lead then-Senator Barack Obama had over Clinton back in 2008.
Way back on February 5, 2008, Obama lead in pledged delegates by just 20 (985 to 965). After last night, Clinton leads Sanders by 190 (576 to 386).
There will be 617 more delegates this year than there were in 2008, so that may be the cause of Clinton’s larger lead. However, Obama’s 2008 lead was 0.6% of the total pledged delegates, Clinton’s is currently 5%.
While almost three-quarters of the pledged delegates have yet to be allocated, in elections, past performance can indicate future results. Plus, Democrats have the infamous Party Leaders and Elected Officials — or “Super-Delegates”. These delegates have broken for Clinton 457 to just 22 for Sanders.
If Bernie wasn’t toast before last night, he certainly is now.
