I had a tough time immediately grasping the argument’s strain through the three sections of the piece. I had to read it three or four times [maybe just me, though]. The transition between sections seems to be missing and maybe, while intentional, their existence could really coallese your argument.
What if the second section started by saying, “The symbiotic artist/curator relationship is perfectly illustrated by looking at podcasts that are dependent on the pairing between tastemakers and sharers amazing storytelling and hilarious interviews…. Then move into your love of podcasts, black podcasters, etc.
Then you move onto this (which I think should say “How” rather than “Where”) Where does that bring us to the common day where anyone with a Tumblr account has the ability to advance the cultural conversation in black contemporary art? This leads me to believe that you are examining how the artist/curator relationship directly impacts black contemporary art — and then I wish you would have laid a bit of that argument early on so that everything that proceeded would have had a context.
I am ultimately left wondering whether the piece is about the democratization of curation in general or more directly how it impacts black artists — and if it the examination of one through the lens of the other I think that is totally legitimate but then I am left wanting the writing to be more specific in walking me through that.
I was also confused by this, “These points are threatening to gatekeepers of prestige.” Are you referencing the gatekeepers of aesthetic prestige who are also, oftentimes curators? If so, maybe “…to the traditional gatekeepers of prestige.”
The subtitle intrigued me and I think that the reference to Jordan and Rodman, which is not picked up in the piece, is likely lost on a wider internet audience that might not know what comparison you are drawing.

Loved the imbedded podcast — reference to meme that could have been paired with a visual. But to be honest, I’m never entirely sure what this category even means. I’ve read lots of articles that were pretty plainly displayed but impactful.
