Preparing Your Final Draft — CNF Essay
Closely revise, based on feedback (kind of)
Your essay belongs to you. It’s likely the most personal think you’ve written for our class.

Take the feedback that makes sense. Pay attention to feedback that tells you when something is missing, unclear, or boring.
Ignore the feedback that doesn’t work for you.
Re-read closely for writing errors.
Find a Journal That Fits Your Story
Take a look at the links that are posted in the lesson.
Poets & Writers (title is a link) has the biggest list.
Be sure the journal is seeking nonfiction submissions.
Read the submission requirements and any specific requests for your cover letter.
Write a Brief Cover Letter to Accompany Your Essay
This will be your third cover letter, so I’ll keep my advice short:
One or two paragraphs at most
Don’t be cute, folksy, jazzy, or weird
Only include a bio if the journal asks for it
Don’t summarize your essay in your letter
