Udacity Technology Scholarship
2 min readNov 24, 2019

I have always had an interest in numbers from a young age. In the past ~1.5 years, I have taken a few courses on programming languages (R, Python), Statistics, Data Science and tried about two Kaggle competitions.

However, I don’t feel confident taking on a project by myself and decided to start all over. I follow an amazing lady on twitter — Brenda. She tweeted about the Bertelsmann Technology Scholarship in September 2019. I applied and I got accepted into the challenge phase. Yay!!!

What is the Bertelsmann Technology Scholarship Program?

Bertelsmann is one of the largest media companies that also invests in education. Their goal over the next three years is to sponsor 50,000 tech scholarships on Udacity to learn Data, AI and Cloud Computing skills.

The scholarship is in two phases. The first phase accepts 15,000 recipients who spend 3.5 months learning concepts in Data, AI or Cloud Computing. 1,500 successful recipients move to the second phase where they receive a full Nanodegree scholarship on Udacity in their given track.

I just got into the first phase of the Data track. For the next 3.5 months, I’ll be learning about Data Analysis. To hold myself accountable, I plan on documenting my journey here and hope that others could learn from my undertaking.

I hope to receive a scholarship to the Data Analyst Nanodegree program and use my skills to solve social issues. Kindly, keep me in your thoughts.
