2 years ago, I set out on a mission to figure out how to take care of the mundane things in life, so people would have the ability to be superhuman.

In that time, my team and I ran lots of experiments to see what was the most effective way of accomplishing this at scale.

The first major experiment we ran was to better understand what was distracting people from being superhuman; we offered a virtual assistant service called Superhuman alpha.

Superhuman alpha facilitated the lives of many of my friends and the lives of their friends.

The service provided was loved and appreciated; unfortunately we learned the limitations of scaling a human powered service and decided it was best to discontinue the service.

We then spent our time on a second major experiment which was called SuperCalendar.

This experiment offered a virtual scheduling assistant to manage and coordinate your schedule. We turned it off in the Fall of 2013 because we couldn’t provide a consistent experience due to human error and the intricacies of people’s calendaring habits.

However, during the SuperCalendar experiment we noticed that all of our users would send emails to their scheduling assistants, to have events added to their calendar.

Over the past couple of months we spent our energy building out a product that automated this process and call it Super.cc

As a company we strive to build an experience that just works and plan to offer more automations for daily life; but as Reid Hoffman is attributed as saying:

“If you are not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you’ve launched too late.”
