What?

When packing for a “90 Day Stay” or a week at Disneyland I recommend taking a few things you might consider odd. When the curtains in your hotel room don’t close properly and you know the blinking neon light outside your window is going to drive you crazy in the middle of the night, you will be happy you brought some wire clips. When you want to keep your towel wrapped around you at a decorous level after a shower, you will be happy you brought some wire clips. When you open a bag of frozen peas and want to reseal the bag, you will be happy you brought some wire clips. If the bathroom or kitchen doesn’t have a way to hang a towel, an alligator clip with teeth on a loop can be a life saver. And thank goodness for 3M Command hooks! When living the “90 Day Stay” lifestyle overseas, I also take an old iPhone and buy a local SIM card so I have a local phone number I can give out to the real estate agent, the landlord and new friends. If the apartment doesn’t have WiFi it is worth it to me to work with the landlord to get it. Buying the router and leaving it is a small price to pay for a good connection with friends and family. And you want to be able to access eBooks from your hometown library and stream shows from BritBox, etc. if you don’t have a TV or if all the programing is in language you don’t speak. In the past I carried a laptop and a iPad but iPads have improved so much that I probably won’t bother with a laptop in the future.

So.. the pandemic will be over eventually and we will start traveling again. Start your travel shopping list now. A new iPad is on my list. What is on yours?
