I have this vague memory of my parents singing this song or maybe I saw him sing it on t.v., but yes, it’s familiar. I grew up with air raid drills and hiding under my desk at school — like that would’ve done any good. There were constant reminders that WWIII would be the end of civilization.
My brother graduated from the Air Force and worked as an engineer for the NSA; although he didn’t say much about what he was doing because he couldn’t, he was able to tell my parents when he was traveling to to Russia, so there was this thick angst frequently hanging around our home in the late 60's.
