Last Sunday, during our weekly Open Source Self Driving Car Initiative (OSSDC) video conference, I presented what components you’ll need for OSSDC PS3/PS4 Simulator and how it works.

We get closer to test our first MVP - Vision Based Adaptive Cruise Control, see #1-mvp-vbacc channel on OSSDC Slack team, and before I get a chance to write the full details on how to build your own simulator (still have some problems processing H264 UDP streams), here is what you need in case you want to get ready earlier:

Update:

I recommend getting this type of HDMI grabber instead of the HDMI extender bellow, as it has about 100ms latency vs the 400ms on the extender:

- ezcap261 USB 3.0 UVC HD60 Game Live Streaming box

- HDMI extender sender, I got this full package as I couldn’t find just the sender:

- Arduino Leonardo, this one works fine for me, with Bluetooth method:

- Bluetooth 4.0 dongle, others may work, but I had this one and works fine:

- HDMI splitter (at least for PS3), you may be lucky with this one, but you may also get one that doesn’t work:

You can buy these components from other sites, like EBay, just make sure is the same model.
