Introducing Inclusivebase!
Dear Cannabis Community,

“We started an online database project, Inclusivebase, two years ago with two team members (Kendra Norwood and Kassia Graham) within Cannaclusive. Kieryn Wang launched her version of a POC database focused on highlighting business owned and operated by marginalized citizens in the cannabis industry this past spring. As to not duplicate or erase another woman of color from dual ideas and desired outcomes, I reached out to her making her aware of my database and desire to combine our efforts for the greater good. Please meet our beta and soon to be growing passion and business advocacy project, inclusivebase, powered by both our entities Cannaclusive and ALMOSTCONSULTING. If there is any desire to support this item with your audience and/or network please contact us directly.”
Mary Pryor — co-founder of Cannaclusive

“I created the POC Cannabis Directory originally in part as a resource for myself to help out friends who would ask me for minority-owned cannabis/CBD brand recommendations. This was a very grassroots effort, looking to the community to help build and grow the directory from the ground up. I was thrilled when Mary reached out about InclusiveBase, a project she had been working on internally for several years. I knew this was the chance for the directory to be amplified to the right communities and for even more minority-owned cannabis businesses to be represented. I’m looking forward to working with Cannaclusive to continue this project as well as help more cannabis- and CBD-curious consumers purchase responsibly while learning about the people behind the plant.”

What is Inclusivebase?
For decades our communities have been impacted by the unjust war on drugs. A healing plant with multiple uses was criminalized, but we are breaking those shackles daily! We invite you to join our database of people of color (POC) who’re leading the way in the cannabis renaissance. This is a resource for you, as conscious cannabis consumers. Send this database to people in your life so they can support these POC. Use it as a reference when you travel to legal states or shop in your home state. Use this list for collaboration and community-building. Let’s start amplifying minority-owned cannabis businesses!
About the Collaborators
Cannaclusive was created to facilitate fair representation of minority cannabis consumers. At Cannaclusive, we celebrate the cultures of this thriving community through curated experiences and thoughtful content. We make it easier for brands to communicate with diverse audiences and ensure that minority consumers are not an afterthought, but a valued ally in the fight for legalization and destigmatization.

ALMOSTCONSULTING began as a cannabis marketing consultancy focused on harnessing digital communities and experiential activations to bring consumers and collaborators together. At ALMOSTCONSULTING, we work to break the stigma of women-identifying cannabis consumers by bringing an unapologetic, fresh take on old marketing concepts. We believe in the power of transparency and accessibility for consumers of all levels to appreciate the cannabis plant and understand its potential benefits and applications.
- Under one in five cannabis businesses nationwide are minority-owned, according to a recent Marijuana Business Daily report
- August 2017 survey of 567 self-identified senior executives, owners and founders polled by the same site found that about 17% of cannabis executives were minorities
- A 2016 BuzzFeed analysis estimated that just 1% of 3,200 to 3,600 U.S. storefront marijuana dispensaries had black owners
