Opus Fun Project

To every project, some fun…

I’ve known Miguel since our childhood. Funny how the destiny can connect the dots.

In a super chill environment Miguel started to talk about Opus Fun: one music organization from Braga who aims to bring a different perspective of what’s music in Portugal.

From left to right: Miguel, me and Renato

Firstly, I felt in love with the project, for its purpouse and connection with children. Starting by the basic paper and pencil, as Miguel was speaking, the ideas came to a reality.
Fun and professional? Quite a challenge.

We had to start from the basis: talk about the values of the organisation, the colours they already used, the connection between them and the audience, the music they played…

So, we started to define a brand which was capable to make Opus Fun become a reality, concerning what they have lived so far.
The decision of the colour palette was the first one, then came the typography and lastly the brainstorm about the logo.

How can we make this logo appealing? We started by thinking on the shape of a guitar… but then again, we wanted to be simple and not too obvious. Text aligned or not? Damn… why it had to be professional and funny?

Final Logo

We had a couple coffees to understand the expectations from each side, and after some drafts and improvements, this was the final logo. In the end, the result was professional and fun. Colour: check; Not-that-obvious-guitar-shape: check; Typography: Check;

Since they have 3 projects within Opus Fun, the idea of having a son-logo for the main one came. With this said, the yellow one defines “Música Itinerante” (“Walking Music”), the red one “Workshops EcoMúsica” (EcoMusic Workshops) and the blue one for “Histórias com Música” (Stories with music).

Opus Fun Brochure

As you can see, after the logo came the stationery design: a brochure, business card, roll up and a wristband to deliver to children during the events.

Nice to see they already printed the business cards!

This was one of the happiest projects ever. Thank you especially to Miguel and Renato for making the work so easy. More projects like this!

For this project I’ve used Photoshop to edit the photos, InDesign for the brochure and Illustrator for the Roll Up, Wristband and Logo
