What really caught my eye here was the implication that women are genetically doomed to be more risk averse than men. Did the Google study on psychological safety not demonstrate that willingness to engage in (wise) risks depends more strongly on environment than on team composition?
Taking gender to be a fixed variable, is it not worth the effort to explore manipulation of the remaining (i.e., environmental) variables prior to writing women off as too risk averse to contribute in a leadership capacity (particularly in male dominated fields) on a level on par with men?
