Race relations in the USA are particularly controversial, especially in recent years, compared to much of the rest of the world. It behooves hiring managers and the HR community to look beyond the “headlines” and what passes for political discourse in America and find ways to recognize talent in underserved communities — which may ironically house some of a firm’s more loyal customer base.
