Ear Biscuits’ What Makes Something Funny: A Review

In Rhett and Link’s Ear Biscuits ‘What Makes Something Funny’ starts out with a simple greeting, like all podcasts should, and they dive right in with their conversation. If you’re familiar with Rhett and Link you should know they’re popular on YouTube on GMM (Good Mythical Morning) they run a podcast called Ear Biscuits where they dive in to funny stories that happened personally and usually ends up a good conversation overall.

In this podcast they discuss what makes something funny. They start by giving examples of their favorite funny story, Link talks about gifts and Rhett adds his intake on his story and then Rhett tells his while Link adds his intake.

Even some of their fans, which they call the Mythical Beasts, send them their funny stories or asked questions. The question asked in this podcast was “What Makes Something Funny” and they discuss on what they think makes something funny.

They also start to give examples of what they do to make their viewers laugh. They start with researching something that’s relatable and they begin with their show and add an element of surprise and it works.

Rhett and Link discuss what would happen if you laugh at something that’s wrong. They rationalize that if someone else laughs, then it’s okay but if it’s alone then it’s not, but they also discuss that it’s part of human nature to laugh at things that are wrong.

Their question is also how humor has changed over the years. If GMM did what they did ten years ago then they might have gotten mixed amount of views that would be different then than it is now.

Overall, the podcast is very well made. Their voices are clear with no background noises and their introduction and closing had entertaining music, their podcast in whole is an hour long which is plenty of time for someone’s attention.
