ヒバの森 / A Hiba Forest in Oku-Yagen, Aomori

I captured these photos in the same forest in Oku-Yagen, Aomori (See the previous blog post). I wandered off the path and walked into the forest a little while. The mysterious atmosphere was overwhelming and I couldn’t help setting the tripod here and there and spent so much time.

As I wrote in the previous entry, the smell of the trees and leaves was so relaxing and I felt really good in there. I use the aroma old extracted from hiba tree at home.

今回紹介するのは、前回のブログでも紹介した下北・奥薬研の森。散策道があるのだが、脇のヒバの森に心惹かれ、道を外れて森の中に入った。雨上がりのミステリアスな雰囲気が圧倒的で、三脚をあちらこちらに立てざるを得なかった。

前回も書いたが、木々や葉の香りが心地よく、とても気分のよい森林浴。ヒバのオイルは薄めて家でもアロマとして使っている。

Fallen trees and leaves had made the ground so soft. I felt like I was walking on a luxurious carpet.

朽ちた木々、落ち葉が大地を柔らかくしていた。まるで豪華なカーペットの上を歩いているかのよう。

The trees in the photo above was standing right next to the parking space. I liked its posture and how the new leaves have started to spring out.

上の写真は駐車上の脇に立っていた木。その立ち姿が美しく、また芽を出したばかりの新緑が初々しかった。

My original plan was to capture the clear river flow but I didn’t want to spend extra time there, so I didn’t get closer to it. Actually, taking photos of that river this way might look nicer than captured in a long-exposure shot using an ND filter.

この場所に来た本当の目的は清流を撮ることだった。しかし、森で過ごした時間があまりに良かったため、清流をNDフィルターで撮るとかどうでもよくなった。そこで、橋の上から見下ろして高速シャッターで。荒々しい水の流れは、こうやって止めて見た方が面白いかもしれない。
