It’s amazing. Here in America we complain about the divisions that exist between us — that keep us apart. Thus, when someone who is writing about what he hopes for his daughter and the importance of honor, you decide that he can’t be honorable because he fought in “dishonorable wars”. Thus foreclosing a possible point of discussion about what honor means — instead, you’ve made that decision about what honor means. Never mind that what qualifies as honorable has been debated by philosophers for millennia; never mind that kindness, which is what the author demonstrates, is a necessary ingredient to wisdom, which is also honorable.

My question to you is: did writing this comment make you feel honorable? Because to me, it just makes you look, well, you know.
