Dick Cheney is already in his mid 70s, and there seems to be no appetite to hold him accountable before he dies of old age. From what I see of the candidates vying for office for this upcoming election, perhaps only Sanders has the political will to go after Cheney and the others, and he is a long shot at best at this point.

The obvious difference between Nuremberg and this is that the Nazi government was defeated and the criminals had nowhere left to run — they were caught between the West and the Soviets. The “ghost prisoner” criminals are well connected and can repel efforts even for the gathering of evidence of their crimes.

I wouldn’t hold my breath for justice, unfortunately.
