I switched from Windows to Linux. Here are the lessons I learned along the way.

Question…why would anyone other than someone doing pure development work or whose company runs Linux standard choose to run Linux natively vs. Windows on a PC? I’ve tried it a number of times and it never kept. Admittedly my use case doesn’t fit the bill. My PC at home is used for content consumption, recording music, and light gaming with premium, name-brand titles. But I wonder what the benefits are of running Linux as the native OS vs. a a Windows VM or via USB stick? Performance? These days, on an i7–7700 processor, how much difference can there really be in performance between Windows 10 native and Linux native?
