The situation is bad enough; I don’t know why there is a need to do this kind of ridiculous overstatement.

Of course America has developed public goods. The internet is one. Medicaid, the public health system. The roads and the air traffic control system. California used to have a really stellar public school system.

The problem is that it doesn’t have enough of them and that there are political forces working against them. But that is very different than what the highlighted comment claims.
