The 2020 F1 calendar’s seen a reshuffle due to the pandemic and so the drivers were only given a one-week breather following the Spanish Grand Prix which saw Lew Hamilton claim his place on the winner’s seat.

The Mercedes man is leading the drivers’ standing by 37 points. Behind him is Red Bull’s Max Verstappen followed by Valtteri Bottas (also Mercedes) a further six points behind in third. The triple-header event will see F1 move to Monza for the Italian GP before concluding a new race, The Tuscan GP, at Mugello.

In Australia, Foxtel and Kayo own the rights to broadcast the races. That means your best bet at watching all the races will be on Kayo, Australia’s dedicated sports streaming app.

For $25 a month, you can get the basic package, which has access to a number motorsports options, including the F1 series and two simultaneous streams. If you want an extra one, the Premium package for $35 will get you three.

If you’ve never signed up before, you’ll get a free 14-day trial to figure out whether it’s for you.

Foxtel also has the rights to broadcast the races so if you’re signed up to a package with its sports channels, you’ll get to peep the races.

As always, there are sneaky ways to see them for free such as heading to your local sports bar for a cheeky peak. Channel 10 also broadcasts the Melbourne Grand Prix when it’s on but given it was missed this year, it’s not clear if there’s an alternative arrangement.

Formula One is back with the 2020 Belgian Grand Prix, which takes places over 44 laps of the 7.004km Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps on Sunday. Revved up and ready to watch the F1 in HD and 4K? You’ll find a handy guide on how to watch a 2020 Belgian Grand Prix live stream — from anywhere in the world — below.

Those in the UK will need to subscribe to Sky to watch live. F1 fans in the US can stream every race live for just $79.99 per year via F1 TV Pro (don’t forget, you’ll need a VPN to access your account when outside of the US).

The Belgian Grand Prix is the seventh race in this year’s F1 calendar. The race is scheduled for 2.10pm BST on Sunday. Practice starts on Friday at 10am, with qualifying due to begin at 2pm on Saturday.

The big news head of Spa is that Formula 1 has announced the final races of the 2020 season. F1 fans will be treated to four Grands Prix in three countries: Turkey, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi. That will bring the total number of races in this year’s calendar to just 17 (there were 21 last year).

The Turkish Grand Prix on the 15th November marks a return for the Istanbul Park track for the first time in nine years. Bahrain hosts two races on 29th November and 6th December before the season concludes at Abu Dhabi’s breathtaking Yas Marina track on 13th December. Still, the way things are going, Lewis Hamilton will have secured the driver’s title long before the F1 circus reaches the Emirates…

Last time out, Hamilton extended his lead over Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas with a magnificent win in Spain. The Brit is now sitting pretty at the top of the driver’s table with 132 points. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is second with 95 points and Bottas has slipped to third with 89 points.

Will Hamilton secure victory at Spa, one of the most challenging and unforgiving circuits in the world? Can he keep the throttle pinned through Eau Rouge? Of course he can — but so can the Red Bulls and the Racing Points, who are looking more and more competitive as the season progresses.

And let’s not underestimate Charles Leclerc: the young Ferrari driver has, somehow, managed to drag a dog-of-a-car up to the front. With a shorter season, and just 11 races to go, every point counts at the Belgian Grand Prix this weekend.
Formula One F1 TV Pro season pass

Formula 1 itself offers an on-demand and live streaming service to race fans everywhere. Exactly what you get depends on what country you’re in, so it may be a case of making sure you’re signed up to a VPN if you’re away from home.

Those in the US, for example, can sign up to a $79.99 F1 TV Pro season pass with live streams of every track session for all Grands Prix, access to all driver onboard cameras and team radios and live streams of F1, F2, F3 and Porsche Supercup races.

There’s also on-demand access to full race replays and highlights, the F1 onboard cameras, all F1, F2, F3 and Porsche Supercup replays and F1’s historic race archive too — an excellent package for petrol heads.

Watch Belgian Grand Prix anywhere in the world using a VPN

We’ll look at the TV and live stream options for UK and USA-based F1 fans below, but even after spending all that money on a subscription you’re still not going to be able to watch the Grand Prix from another country. The service will know your location based on your IP address, and will automatically block your access.

There are certain territories where some or all of the races are free to air — so if you’re away in Albania, Azerbaijan, Brazil, China, Russia, Slovenia, USA, the Middle East or North Africa, you may just need to tune in on your hotel TV or find a local bar. You can find a full list of the world’s broadcasters with rights to show live Formula 1 here.

Anywhere else and you might want to get yourself a VPN instead. A VPN (Virtual Private Network) creates a private connection between your device and the internet, such that the servers and services you’re accessing aren’t aware of what you’re doing. All the information passing back and forth is entirely encrypted.

There are many VPN providers out there, with some more reliable and safe than others. As a rule, we’d suggest a paid-for service such as ExpressVPN or NordVPN.

ExpressVPN three months free with a year-long plan
You can get three months free when you sign up to a year-long plan, bringing VPN access to smart devices including the Amazon Fire TV Stick, laptops, TVs and both Android and iOS mobiles and tablets. Express also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.VIEW DEAL

Once you’ve made your choice, all you need to do is sign in to your VPN service through whichever device you’d like to use to watch the match. When prompted to select a server, you need to pick one which is based in the country whose content you’d like to access. Then navigate to the relevant video streaming app or website and you’re in.
